Online Workshop "Competition Law and Regulation in the Pharmaceutical Sector: Between Europe and EurAsia" 2 March 2021
As the pandemic has strained the resources of most countries, the health sectors of developing countries have been even more severely hit by price spikes of medical supplies and pharmaceutical products. The responses to price increases have varied extensively across the globe, from competition law investigations on excessive pricing to price-setting. Moreover, collusion and other anticompetitive conducts in pharmaceutical markets need to find coherent solutions to the need of providing affordable and innovative medicines on a short and long term basis.
In this workshop, experts from Europe, Eurasia and Asia compare the general approaches to competition law enforcement and policy adopted by competition authorities and governments in their respective jurisdictions and discuss future improvements.
